  • Benjamin Franklin’s autobiography is an important piece of American history—and a common text for many English classes. Perhaps two of the most common excerpts read in high schools are his "Plan for Attaining Moral Perfection" and his "Arrival in Philadelphia." This set is meant to incorporate both of those pieces and engage students as they do the work of reading Franklin’s (sometimes difficult) prose.

    The first sheet works best as a companion to help review his "Plan for Attaining Moral Perfection." The second is meant to engage students in Franklin’s travel narrative while strengthening their ability to use textual evidence.
