Olisa Agbakoba is one of the most popular and richest Jurist who was born on May 29, 1953 in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria.

Olisa Agbakoba was born May 29th, 1953, to the Chief Justice Godfrey Ubaka and Mrs Phina Agbakoba of Jos. Later, he moved into Onitsha at the age of 65, just two years prior to the start of the Nigerian civil war. He was a student at Government Primary School, Jos from 1959 to 1960.

Hillcrest School, Jos; 1961, Government Primary School Jos 1962 , 1963; Zixton Public School Ozubulu in 1964, and Christ the King College, Onitsha between 1966 and 1967.

The year 1990 was the time he was awarded by the Roger Baldwin Medal for Civil Liberties.

In 1993, he received an award in 1993 with the Human Rights Award of the German Association of Judges and in 1996, he was awarded the Aachen Peace Award.
