    Annick Girardin (French pronunciation:[anikʒiʁaʁdɛ̃]; born 3 August ) is a French politician of the Radical Party who served as Minister of the Sea in the government of Prime MinisterJean Castex (–), Minister of Overseas France in the government of Prime MinisterÉdouard Philippe (–) and Junior Minister for Development and Francophonie in the government of Prime MinisterManuel Valls (–).

    Early life and education

    A great-niece of the councilor of Saint-Pierre and senator Henri Claireaux,[2] Girardin is the eldest of four siblings; her mother was a housewife and her father, after fishing activities, ran a family bakery business.
